Ya-yu Lo

Bio

Dr. Ya-yu Lo is a Professor of Special Education at The University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She specializes in school-based multi-tiered interventions using applied behavior analytic approach for urban diverse learners with behavioral disorders. Since joining UNC Charlotte in 2004, she has secured over $2.5 million in external funding as PI or co-PI from institutions including the U.S. Department of Education, the Spencer Foundation, and the European Commission. Dr. Lo regularly teaches a doctoral level seminar in teaching and graduate courses in special education, including behavioral assessnent and single-case research. Her contributions to the field include leadership roles at several professional organizations, including the Council for Exceptional Children’s Division for Culturally/Linguistically Diverse Exceptional Learners, Chinese American Educational Research and Development Association, North Carolina Association for Behavior Analysis, and North Carolina Council for Children with Behavioral Disorders.
