Dr. Ann M. Mickelson is an Associate Professor in the Department of Special Education and Child Development at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She also serves as the Graduate Director of the M.Ed in Special Education: Child and Family Studies Concentration and the M.A.T in Child and Family Studies.
Dr. Mickelson’s experiences as an early interventionist, early childhood special educator, service coordinator, and parent have provided a foundation for her work that centers on achieving positive outcomes and the promotion of meaningful and equitable inclusive education for young children and their families. She is particularly interested in (a) interdisciplinary and collaborative models of personnel preparation for early childhood professionals, and (b) authentic partnerships with caregivers and professionals. Dr. Mickelson teaches preservice and graduate level courses in the Special Education and Child and Family Development Programs.
